At the outset of our Co Working journey, we were determined to deliver a space in Newry that was design lead. In our delivery of urban regeneration projects and previous developments across Northern Ireland, we have always been very focused on the psychology and sociology of how people interact, especially when it comes to millennials. Even in our own office environment over the past decade the traditional work space model of cubicles and 9 to 5 hours has become antiquated and unsustainable for modern life. We believe that people deliver their best when they are given space to thrive and that is why we immediately set out to create a welcoming, vibrant space that is exciting to work from every single day.
If you read any business improvement book or entrepreneurial biography, you will already know that a positive mindset is one of the key ingredients to success. So, we wanted to create a space that captivates you from the very beginning that is why we have developed a beautiful full height glazed entrance lobby with exposed concrete ceilings and grey tiles. We’ve also focused on lighting, open space and areas to cultivate collaboration and fun. The ample open space right when you walk through the door blends into the hot desking and dedicated desk space that serves Flexi Space’s flexible needs and creates an open, vibrant welcome for members.
Combining Open Plan & Private Spaces
The private offices that are enclosed by floor-to-ceiling glass walls are positioned next to the coworking space so that members opting for privates offices can have their own personal space, but can still see the energy of the drop-in and dedicated desk spaces while maintaining Flexi Space’s sense of community. The balance between privacy and openness in any Co Working environment is a very delicate balance and one that we are constantly considering when making changes to the layout. Indeed, we envisage that we will continue to adapt our spaces and incorporate feedback and ideas from our members as we go along.
When it came to Flexi Space, we set out to be inventive with every element of the interiors and furnishings. From spot colours to exposed ceilings and unconventional features, including hanging pallets, metal frames and checker plate wall coverings. We wanted to create one-of-a-kind, sustainable pieces that make Flexi Space unique.
